At the law firm of Flora Templeton Stuart, our greatest leaders selflessly contribute to the betterment of their communities. These leaders come from a variety of backgrounds, and we want to give back to students who demonstrate these leadership traits through community service. Due to recent events, it is now more important than ever before for us to stand together with voices that have gone unheard.
To highlight community leaders in our country, our firm is proud to announce the “Juneteenth” Scholarship. The goal of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to underprivileged ethnic minority students throughout the United States whose passion and leadership through volunteer work have improved the lives of people in their communities and will in the future.
Students must submit an essay between 500-1000 words about how they have made a difference in their community. The essay must also include student’s career aspirations and explain plans to overcome economic and racial discrimination during their career. Finally, students must demonstrate how their life experience and background gave them empathy for those less fortunate. The scholarship winner will be awarded $1,000.
