The Bowling Green Hot Rods and Flora Templeton Stuart want to motivate young people to serve our community. The Bowling Green Hot Rods and Flora Templeton Stuart are seeking recommendations of students for their service to the community. This program will instill confidence, the ability to make a positive difference, determination to make that difference and values to care. Service awards will be given throughout the year based on the recommendations of students, teachers and school administrators for students who have performed community service. Schools with the greatest participation will also receive a cash award and recognition.
Program Information and Guidelines
Students, teachers or school administrators will need to complete the attached form. Students, teachers or school administrators may nominate students in grades 1-12. Nominations must be completed on the attached form and should be mailed to:

- Each submission for a student must include their name, age, school and teacher, etc. The entire form must be completed.
- More than one recommendation may be submitted for each child.
- The Law Firm of Flora Stuart will collect all recommendations for participating schools by deadline.
- Each student, teacher or school administrator who submits a form will receive one coupon for a buy one get one free box seat ticket to the Bowling Green Hot Rods game on August 25.
- Recommendations will be evaluated and judged by the Hot Rods, Flora Stuart and their representatives who will determine the award recipients.
- Once the winners have been selected the schools and winners will be notified.
- Each winner will be invited to throw a ceremonial pitch prior to the game and be presented their award on August 25.
Award Details
In order to be a recipient of this award, the student must have demonstrated a commitment to improve our community through voluntary service. This can be by creating a program which made a positive difference or by volunteering for a service or community organization.
Awards and Levels
Recipients of awards will be selected twice a year.
- First Place – The student who places first place, will receive $150.00 cash award.
- Second Place – The student who places second will receive $100.00 cash award.
- Third Place – The student who places third will receive a $50.00 cash award.
- School – The school with the greatest participation will receive a $500.00 cash award.
- All recipients of awards will receive recognition at Hot Rods games, which includes throwing a pitch at the game, and recognition throughout community.
- All recipients will receive free tickets to the Hot Rods game.
Axle/Poppy Appearance
At the request of participating schools, Axle the Bear from the Hot Rods and Poppy the Raccoon from Flora Stuart Law Firm can introduce the program to students, teachers and administrators along with Axle’s Book Buddies Program. Appearances are scheduled on a first come, first served basis, last approximately 30 minutes, and are limited to one appearance (1) per school.
